** The Loan Reporting System (LRS) was developed in order to have a reliable source of informaiton of South Africa’s debt pofile.

** The objective of the LRS is to ensure accurate and comprehensive reporting of loan related data by Authorised Dealers for compilation of foreign debt statistics and repayment profile to support monetary policy decisions.
** The LRS is also used by Authorised Dealers as an administrative tool to monitor the status of individual loans relating to draw downs, capital and interest payments.

For historical rate statistics, please log on to our website, .reservebank.co.za and click on “Research”, then on “Rates” and then on “Selected Historical Rates”. Here you will find the inflation rate, interest rates, the exchange rate and the nominal effective exchange rate.
