Transport Scholarship To Czech Republic

** As a pledge towards addressing the skills shortage within the Transport sector, the Department of Transport is currently in the process of offering 10 scholarships to young black women who are interested in studying in Transport disciplines, more particularly in the areas of Transport infrastructure and technology.

** The Department seeks to recruit Matriculants from historically disadvantaged communities with Mathematics and Science as passed subjects.

** The undergraduate programme is preferably targeted at South African citizens from marginalised parts of the country up to the age of 25 years and who, on completion of their qualifications, would be willing to work within the Transport sector.

** Students will be expected to study in both Czech and English at an overseas University for a maximum duration of 4-5 years.

** Successful candidates will be expected to undergo a 1 year Czech language course as a prerequisite to entry for exposure and study purposes, but also to enable easy comprehension in the areas of need throughout the entire study period.

Application requirements :
** Students must have passed pure Mathematics and English with a B symbol (6 Meritorious).

Although the following courses will be offered, candidates would be advised to study primarily in those areas that the local providers are experiencing capacity challenges on :
** Technology Management in Transport
** Transport Means, with specialisation in Railway Vehicles or Road Vehicles
** Transport Infrastructure, with specialisation in Transport Routes The deadline for applications is 28 February 2015 and only qualifying students would be invited for interviews and other relevant screening.
** No late applications will be considered.

** Applications must be submitted on Form Z83 and must be accompanied by certified copies of Matric certificate, statement of results, ID and motivational letter; via post to Private Bag X193, Pretoria, 0001 or hand-delivered at the Department of Transport, Forum Building, 159 Struben Street, Pretoria.
