Sleekgeek Healthy Meal Template Recipe Competition
Do you think that you’re a Sleekgeek Super Chef?
** Well, we want to see who can put together the best recipe(s) using the Sleekgeek Healthy Meal Template formula.

** To be honest, Elan and I aren’t amazing chefs… We like to eat pretty simple meals. So we are in desperate need of your expertise to help us come up with some amazing recipes that will benefit the Sleekgeek Community and our Healthy Lifestyle Revolution’s goal of inspiring 1 million people to transform themselves and lead a better quality life.
** We would like to combine the top recipes submitted into some kind of resource or recipe book for the community and also help us identify who we can work with on future cooking and recipe-creation projects.
** Oh, and we’re putting up a R5,000 Yuppiechef voucher for the winner (or straight cash if you would prefer)!
Instructions
A Sleekgeek Healthy Meal Template Recipe submission must meet the following requirements :
1) Read through and familiarize yourself with the Sleekgeek Food List, the Sleekgeek Healthy Meal Template, and the Sleekgeek Portion Control Guide.
These are the guidelines that your recipe will be based upon.
2) The recipe must be healthy, tasty, and easy-to-follow.
We are not looking for advanced gourmet meals. Instead, we are looking for simple and easy to follow meals for beginners and intermediates.
3) The recipe must only use foods found in the Sleekgeek Food List.
These should be listed in an ingredients list with their recommended quantities for the recipe.
4) The recipe must include protein, veg, carbs, and fats in each meal.
Keep in mind that fats can come in the form of cooking oils or dressings too. Exceptions may be made for vegetables in a breakfast recipe if they do not fit, but substituting some colourful and/or low-sugar fruit such as berries in their place is recommended. See Meal Example #5 in the Sleekgeek Healthy Meal Template for an example.
5) The recipe must include the estimated number of servings for men and/or woman respectively based on the Sleekgeek Portion Control Guide.
For example, a recipe might serve 1 man based on 2 portions of each food group guideline, or it might serve 2 women based on 1 portion of each food group.
6) The recipe may include herbs and spices.
In fact, this is encouraged, but ideally not too many or too exotic otherwise it may intimidate a beginner.
7) The recipe must not require any additional sauces or condiments.
However, you may include optional recommendations if you want. For example, Tabasco.
8) The recipe must include step by step instructions.
The more detailed, the better. Our advice is to assume that a complete beginner is reading your recipe and to never assume the depth of their expertise in the kitchen.
9) The recipe must include high-resolution photos of the finished product.
Step-by-step photos are a bonus.
10) The recipe must include a list of kitchen equipment required.
Appliances, utensils, bowls, pans, etc. If you used it, it goes in the recipe.
11) The recipe must be an original recipe.
You are welcome to base it on or adapt it from existing recipes out there, but the end result must be unquestionably yours. Any plagiarism will lead to immediate disqualification.
