Fleet Manager :
** Top Manufacturing and Engineering Company in Germiston is in need of a Senior, Experienced Fleet Manager (overlapping with Transport and Garage Management) to start Immediately.

** The Fleet manager is a senior role and the goal is to ensure consistent high quality work for all services and repairs, ensure a safe working environment, Maintain technician morale and motivation.
** Maintain a clean and orderly working environment; Control the flow of vehicles and jobs throughout the business to ensure the utmost use of available productive time. Maintain costs and drive cost savings.
Essential Requirements :
** Matric with a Tertiary Qualification in a related field
** Mechancial Background is preferred – Trade Test is an advantage
** PC Literate
** Male, 40+
** Must be available immediately or within 2 weeks
** Able to Plan and Organise Effectively
** Supervision of Staff and Vehicles / Equipment is Essential – you must have supervised and managed staff
** Must be reliable and honest
Key Performance Areas :
** To maximize departmental profitability through the correct purchase of parts and materials
** Improve data base management system to record accurate information on repairs, purchases, age analysis of vehicles, vehicle servicing, fuel purchases, Stock on hand and R&M Costs
** Daily monitoring of vehicle abuse and out of line expenses on company vehicles
** Plan all vehicles deliveries and driver rotations and allocations
** Keep an accurate vehicle list of services dates and action accordingly
** Implement a job card and quality control inspection report for all vehicles, ensure 6 inspection reports are done annually on all vehicles
** Quality control and check all vehicles brought in with the Fleet Mechanic
** Resolve and manage staffing problems
** Assist with the correct dispatching of repair orders to the fleet mechanic
** Ensure a productive and efficient working environment
** Monitor complaints on vehicles and address with fleet mechanic
** Monitor quality through quality control inspections , repeat repairs and complaints received
** Maintain discipline amongst workshop staff
** Establish yearly staff training with relevant manufacturers/dealers/distributors
** Manage stock levels of consumables, keep updated records of all consumables and parts booked out and ensure all is accurately recorded on job cards per vehicle
** Ensure best price at all times tender at least 4 times per year all parts and consumables to ensure best price and complacency
** Establish service reminder system
** Provide monthly reports on expenses to management
** Conduct daily morning meetings with staff and drivers
** Monitor service shop environmental and safety issues
** Ensure 3 quotes for all repairs obtained and presented to management for approval
** Assist with diagnosis when vehicles are brought in by staff
** Ensure all work performed is accurately recorded on a repair order form per vehicle
** Ensure that workshop policies & procedures are adhered to
** Assign and dispatch repair orders based on priority and promised completion time
** Monitor the reasons for , and the progress of each job stoppage
** Monitor , record and identify the causes of vehicle repeat repairs
** Monitor , record and identify the causes of vehicle carry-overs
** Technician productivity and efficiency to be measured on daily basis
** Attach distributor recommended maintenance items to all repair orders
** Plan next day’s production based on availability of productive manpower / technicians
** Ensure technician tools and workshop equipment are kept in good working order
** Analyze come-backs / quality rejections and discuss with staff and implement actions to effectively reduce / combat poor quality services / repairs
** Maintain and update technical knowledge and skills of all staff on all makes of company vehicles
** Ensure healthy and safe working environment / standards are adhered to
** Ensure that all items on the repair order are completed in a timely and tradesman like manner
** Ensure a complete predetermined quality control checklist is completed on all vehicles brought in for service, keep filing updated
** Ensure you are up to date with all Repair and servicing of vehicles according to dealer / distributor standards
** Establish from the Fleet Mechanic parts required for service / repair to be performed and ensured correct parts are ordered
** Ensure all oils and parts used are booked out on Repair Order
** Ensure work bay and workshop is kept safe , clean and tidy
** Ensure all information is entered correctly on Repair Order
** Ensure all Reported faults and / or broken equipment is repaired and maintained
** Ensure all special tools and equipment are used with utmost care
** Ensure the workshop and the Fleet mechanic has the correct tools to carry out all repairs and services
