SKA Quality Assurance/Controller Engineer

About the Position :
** SKA SA has an exciting opportunity for a Quality Assurance/Quality Controller Engineer to join our team in Carnarvon, Northern Cape.

** The QA/QC Engineer is responsible for independently verifying that all SKA SA site and contractor processes and procedures are adhered to.

Minimum education requirement :
** Degree or Diploma in Engineering (Electrical/Electronics/Mechanical/Industrial) or equivalent
** Qualification or certification in Quality Assurance, Engineering, Auditing or Measuring, Inspection and Testing

Minimum work experience required :
** Proficient in MS Office and Google Docs
** Minimum 3 years’ experience in Quality Assurance, Engineering, Quality Management, Quality Auditing, Verification and Inspection in either manufacturing, production, product development, civil, construction and infrastructure environments

** Knowledge of Quality Management systems and QA/QC standards e.g. ISO9001
** Minimum 3 years practical experience and a hands-on approach to quality inspection, verification, testing and quality audits
** Experience in establishing processes and procedures for inspection, acceptance testing and verification of mechanical, electrical, electronic or software products
** As-Built installations, commissioning and data packs

Desirable additional education, work experience, and personal qualities :
** Basic working knowledge of Environment, Health and Safety
** Working knowledge of Radio Telescopes
** Attention to detail

Duties include :
** Ensure all products conform to the required specifications and standards
** Work closely with Project Managers, Sub-System Managers and System Engineers
** Determine conformance to project and engineering processes
** Take responsibility for inspection and acceptance of products from suppliers, contractors and consultants
** Take responsibility for the verification and inspection of As-Built instillations and equipment onsite
