Format Of The Competition :
** This competition comprises of two distinct sections.
** To avoid disappointment and disqualification of entries please read this notice thoroughly and if you have any questions please do not hesitate to contact the convenor – Anne d’Oliveira.

Section 1: Junior Club Members
** Anyone who is a member of an affiliated PSSA club and is a 1 to 3 Star worker is eligible to enter this section of the competition.
** Although a person may be still a scholar and under the age of 19, despite there being a section for “Scholars”, if said scholar is a member of a PSSA affiliated club and have been rated at that club between 1 to 3 Stars, they may not enter the Scholar Section of this competition but must enter in Section 1 only.
Section 2: Scholars
This section is reserved ONLY :
** at a recognised scholastic institution and are not older than 19 years of age for those who are scholars
** or are home based schooled and are not older than 19 years of age
** and are not members of a PSSA affiliated club.
Entry Fee :
** Entry to the competition is free.
Awards :
PSSA Bronze Medals :
** Best Nature photograph in Section 1 (Junior) will be awarded for:
** Best Pictorial photograph in Section 1 (Junior)
PSSA Bronze Medals :
** Best Open digital camera photograph in Section 2 (Scholar) will be awarded for:
** Best Open cellphone photograph in Section 2 (Scholar)
Photographers Eligible For Entry :
Section 1 – Junior :
A junior is a person :
** Who is a 1 – 3 star photographer at a PSSA affiliated club
** Who need not be a member of PSSA
** Who does not hold any honours titles from PSSA and who is not in the process of applying for any honours titles with PSSA
Section 2 – Scholar :
A scholar is a person :
** Who is presently attending a scholastic institution or is being home based schooled
** Who is not older than 19 years at the 29 April 2017
** Who need not be a member of PSSA
** Who does not hold any honours titles from PSSA and who is not in the process of applying for any honours titles with PSSA
Categories :
Section 1 – Junior : (1 Star to 3 Star) at a PSSA Affiliated Club
A : Nature and Wildlife (refer definition below) – Colour and Monochrome
B : Open – Colour and Monochrome
Section 2 – Scholar :
C : Open (Digital cameras) – Colour and Monochrome
D : Open (Cellphone cameras) – Colour and Monochrome
Conditions Of Entry :
SECTION 1 (Junior) :
** Entrants may submit TWO photographs in each category.
** Entrants who are members of PSSA must supply their PSSA membership number on their entry on Photo Vault Online and leave blank if not a member.
** Entrants must supply the name of the club they are a member of – do not
** The original image must be made by the entrant on photographic emulsion or acquired with a digital camera.
** All images must be original and must not incorporate elements produced by anyone else.
** By virtue of submitting an entry, the entrant certifies the work is his own.
** The competition coordinator may request applicants to supply him with proof of the authenticity of all the elements in the presented image(s). leave the “Nominated Photo Club” as “Independant” on the Photo Vault Online entry form.
** Submission of entries signifies acceptance of these conditions of entry
Section 2 (Scholar) :
** Entrants may submit TWO photographs in each category.
** Entrants must supply the name of their school in their account details – Refer “Important Instructions” below.
** Entrants must supply their date of birth in their account details – refer “Important Instructions” below.
** The original image must be made by the entrant on photographic emulsion or acquired with a digital camera (Category C) or cellphone (Category D).
** All images must be original and must not incorporate elements produced by anyone else.
** By virtue of submitting an entry, the entrant certifies the work is his own.
** The competition coordinator may request applicants to supply him with proof of the authenticity of all the elements in the presented image(s).
** Submission of entries signifies acceptance of these conditions of entry
Submission Of Entries :
Images must be in the following format :
** JPEG file format
** File size may not exceed 500kb
** Images must be resized to a maximum of 1024 pixels on the horizontal axis and a maximum of 768 pixels on the vertical axis.
** In the case of panoramas, the vertical axis may not exceed 512 pixels.
** It is recommended that the image is converted to the sRGB colour profile to ensure correct colour rendition during display and adjudication.
** Borders are optional but restrain sizes unless the border is meant to be an integral part of the image.
** No text or watermark may be added to the images.
