MSFS Continues Scholarship :
** As of Fall 2014, the Master of Science in Foreign Service (MSFS) at Georgetown University began offering a full-tuition scholarship for a talented graduate student from sub-Saharan Africa.
** MSFS is a two-year, full-time graduate degree program in international affairs.

** Students will take courses in international relations, international trade, international finance, statistics and analytical tools, and history. In addition, students choose an area of concentration such as Global Politics and Security, International Development, or Global Business and Finance.
Application requirements include :
** A completed undergraduate degree from an accredited university and a strong academic record;
** One set of standardized test scores: TOEFL/IELTS or GRE/GMAT (for more information on which test applicants need to take, visit msfs.georgetown.edu/admissions/faq#standardized);
** Completion of a course in microeconomics and a course in macroeconomics, or ability to complete both courses before August 1 of their matriculating year;
** Professional work experience, ideally in a field related to their future professional goals. Students have an average of four years of work experience prior to joining MSFS.
Application Criteria :
A complete application includes :
** Application form (online – please do not print)
** Supplemental Data Sheet & Foreign Language Proficiency (upload to online application form).
** Please be sure to fill out ALL sections of the form, including the Language Proficiency section on the last page.
** 500-700, word typed Statement of Purpose
** Official transcript(s) (hardcopy or electronic) from all colleges/universities attended (in English)
** Letters of recommendation (in English)
** Resume (may be longer than one page; should reflect professional, volunteer or internship experience in the area of international affairs or policy)
** Standardized Tests (GRE or GMAT, TOEFL or IELTS)
** Non-refundable $90 application fee
** Your application fee can be paid online by credit card.
** We accept Visa and MasterCard only.
** We do not accept cash, wire transfers, bank transfers, or checks.
** NO fee waivers except for McNair Scholars, Pickering Fellows, PPIA Fellows, and Rangel Fellows and Scholars.
** Please contact msfsinfo AT georgetown.edu with your fee waiver request and documentation confirming your status at least a week before you plan to submit your application, so we can coordinate your fee waiver with the Graduate School. Please also upload the documentation confirming your program status with your application.
Apply for Admission :
** Create an account.
** You will then have login credentials that will enable you to complete your application over several sessions.
** You will access your secure application in subsequent sessions by signing in under “User Log in.”
** If you have submitted an application previously, you must create a new account for the new application.
** The system will prompt you on how to complete the application.
** Once satisfied with the application, submit it online to Georgetown.
Apply for Admission to Multiple or Dual Programs :
** Create an account for each program of interest, complete each application, and submit accordingly.
Online Submission of Application Materials :
** Online submission of all application materials is required, except for official test scores and official academic transcripts.
** Official test scores should be requested from testing organizations.
** Official transcripts should be requested from all academic institutions attended.
** These should be mailed directly from the institution, or can be sent via secure online delivery if your institution provides that option.
** Please DO NOT send unofficial copies. Please also DO NOT send hard copy versions of documents submitted online.
** Your application information is maintained on a secure server and remains confidential prior to submission.
** Use the Technical Support link for help or assistance during the completion and submission process.
Online Review of the Application :
** Your application will be reviewed online by the appropriate admissions committee once submitted to Georgetown University.
** All required application materials must be received by the appropriate application deadline.
** Once a decision is made by your program’s committee, the Graduate School will confirm this decision and will send an official online letter on behalf of the Dean.
Check the Status of Your Application :
** Check the status of your application by logging into this system with the PIN and password assigned to you for the application.
** Additionally, you will receive important email messages regarding your application status.
Special consideration will be given to applicants from :

** Liberia
** Nigeria
** Senegal
** South Africa
** To be considered for the scholarship, applicants must submit all required application materials (online application, personal statement, official transcripts and test scores, letters of recommendation).
** The scholarship will be awarded based on the strength of the student’s application in the admissions process.
** The application deadline for Fall 2017 is January 15, 2017.
