How To Apply For CUT Admission?

The application cycle for 2026 will open in April/May 2025 and close on 30 September 2025. There are no late applications or walk-in applications – apply within the timeframe and do so online. Application to the CUT is free. Individuals are promoting that they can assist prospective students in applying.

New Students:

Returning Students :
Returning students – you have previously applied (but never studied or completed a year of study at CUT). Applications at the Central University of Technology work in cycles. Each year there is a new application cycle, and your previous year’s application status does not carry over. Thus, you must re-apply for consideration in the next academic year.

You re-apply because you have a record on the system, which you will now update with your current information. If you cannot update/change a field, it is required that you attach a document. If you did not complete a year of study, you also re-apply.

Documents Required For CUT Admission

Submitting these documents is essential for a successful review of your application.

** Current matriculants: upload final Grade 11 results or Grade 12 June results if available.
** Already matriculated applicants: you must upload your certified ID and National Senior Certificate.
** Higher qualifications than matric: you must upload your certified ID, National Senior Certificate, your qualification(s) and study record.
** Postgraduate applicants: Engage with the Head of the Department / Assistant Deans, Research Innovation and Engagement to discuss research project for Masters or Doctorate study before applying online. For more information, visit CUT’s Graduate School.

Undergraduate and Graduate Programmes 2025:

Note:
** The programmes (what NQF level it is, and the qualification type). How long you will spend studying this and with what type of qualification you will graduate.
** Minimum points (APS). Next, it is the minimum points needed to study the programme. Minimum points to study at CUT are 27.
** Some programmes need more than the minimum. Between 24 and 26 you may be eligible for the selection test but if the programme is full of applicants who meet the minimum and above, you are not going to be given the opportunity. Try to have more than the minimum. It should not be your target number.
** Next, we tell you the minimum level of achievement you need per school subject. In the table above the faculties, each subject is given M – Maths, E – English.
** The points you get for the percentage earned in a subject is at the top of the table. Add those numbers 4 + 3 + 4 to get your APS.
