What is Breede Valley Municipality Mayoral Bursary Fund?
The Breede Valley Municipality invites deserving students to partici- pate in the Mayoral Bursary Fund. The financial support from the bursary fund is only a contribution to the overall cost of the study. Applicants must reside within the jurisdiction of the Breede Valley Municipality (Rawsonville, Worcester, De Doorns, and Touwsrivier) and must support and endorse our vision of A unique and caring valley of excellent service delivery, opportunities, and growth. Last date of application is 1st November 2024.

Requirements of Breede Valley Municipality Mayoral Bursary Fund
By creating the Mayoral Bursary Fund we are embracing the vision of the Breede Valley Municipality IDP by addressing the develop- ment of human resources with a specific focus on youth. Students receiving NSFAS bursaries may not apply. Study fields related to local government will be given priority.
1. Applicants must reside within the area of the Breede Valley Municipality. (Worcester, De Dooms, Rawsonville, and Touwsrivier)
2. Only applicants with a passing average of 50% or higher in matric will be considered.
3. Students/ potential students must study at an accredited South African tertiary educational institution.
4. Students who have already been awarded a bursary at another institution will not be considered.
5. Bursaries are only awarded/ granted for 1 (one) study year.
6. Bursary funds to be paid into the bank account of the tertiary Institution.
7. Bursary funds may be utilised for accommodation, meals or transportation, registration fees, class fees, exam fees, and book fees.
8. Only applications on the prescribed application form will be considered.
9. All required information and documentation must be furnished.
10. Submission of fraudulent information will lead to disqualification and Breede Valley Municipality may claim the refund of any financial assistance granted in terms of the Mayoral Bursary Fund.
How To Apply For Breede Valley Municipality Mayoral Bursary Fund?
Applications, submitted on the prescribed application form obtainable on BVM’s website as well as at the municipal offices and libraries (Rawsonville, Worcester, De Doorns, Touwsrivier), MUST contain all information and documentation required.
Please carefully note the requirements and conditions contained in Appendix A to the application form. Please note that the bursary will not cover all the costs of the year of study but only helps with registration fees.
