How To Update Your Record For TUT SRC Election Online?

Should you require any changes or additions to be made to your personal details, use the “update Your Record” button above. This form enables TUT students who are not currently on the voters’ roll to request inclusion, or for those already listed, to update incorrect details (such as student number, cell phone number, and email addresses). Requestors can expect a response within 7 business days following thorough review and validation.

TUT Election Nomination of SFC Candidates

SFC Candidates will be nominated by students within each faculty. Only students in Pretoria, Garankuwa and Soshanguve campuses can nominate candidates for SFCs.

** ​A dedicated online SFC Candidate Nomination System will be used
** All stidents will receive a Nominations Notice.
** Each student, except those in Polokwane, Mbombela and Emalahlenio campuses, will receive a Nomination PIN​
** The Nomination PIN is unique to each student and will be required when making a nomination
** Only candidate nominations received via the online nomination system will be valid
** Nominated candidates will have an opportunity to accept or reject their nomination
** Vetting will then be undertaken for all candidates that have accepted nomination

TUT ISRC & CSRCs Election System

The elections of the Institutional SRC (“ISRC”) and Campus SRC (“CSRCs”) are conducted based on a proportional list system (“List PR”). Only organisations that have registered their intention to participate in the 2024 SRC elections are eligible to submit candidate lists for the CSRC, CSP, and ISRC elections.​

​Organisational registration must:​
** Be in writing to the Chief Electoral Officer by the structure Branch/Local/Campus Chairperson/Secretary or their delegates.​
** Include a confirmation of the name of the Authorised Campus Representative.​
** The Campus Representative will act as the organisational liaison with the EEMC and be responsible for the submission of the candidate list.​
** Organisations can register at any time from 20 June but not later than the cut-off date for nominations at 16:00 on 2 August 2024. ​
** Each eligible student structure is entitled to submit a list of eligible candidates, which may not exceed the number of the contested seats in each election.
** The votes from the two elections are translated into seats using the Droop Quota.

Candidate List Submission:
** Only organisations that have registered to participate in the 2024 SRC elections are allowed to submit candidate lists for the CSRC, and ISRC elections.​
** Only organisations that are contesting the CSRC or ISRC are allowed to submit CSP or ISP candidates.​
** To submit candidate lists, Campus/Institutional Representatives of the eligible student organisations will be provided with an online Candidate List Submission Form and Organisation Nomination PIN by the Chief Electoral Officer​
** The online form must be completed and submitted by the Organisational Campus/Institutional Representative​
** Candidate lists must be submitted by not later than 16:00 on 2 August 2024.​
** The CSP is comprised of thirty-five (35) representatives from structures that participated in the CSRC elections, proportioned in percentages, based on the election results.​
** The CSP Office Bearers are elected by CSP members.​
** Organisational CSP candidates must be submitted simultaneously with the CSRC candidate lists.​
** Only candidates submitted with the CSRC lists are eligible for deployment to the CSP.​
