How To Apply For IEC Voter Registration?
Your one-stop voter information portal. You can use this portal to register to vote, view or update your current voter address, find your voting station, request a special vote, or simply to be aware of important information like upcoming election dates in your ward.

Follow these 6 easy steps:
Step 1 : Home page https://registertovote.elections.org.za/Welcome
Step 2 : Enter your personal information: ID number, name and surname, and mobile number
Step 3 : Insert the One-Time PIN (OTP) sent to your mobile number
Step 4 : Capture your home address
Step 5 : Review and acknowledge your information
Step 6 : Upload a photo or file of your South African ID document
Note:
** Get your SA ID card/book ready and go to the link registertovote.elections.org.za
** Enter your personal information: ID number, name and surname, and mobile number
** Insert the One-Time PIN (OTP) sent to your mobile number

** Review and acknowledge your information

Option 1: Locate me
** The system asks permission to Know your location, followed by setting the Use my current location toggle to ‘On’
** The address form will then pop-up to allow for further address input
Option 2:
** Type in your full address, select from dropdown, or click search
** The screen will show autofilled entries found with your search
** Notes: Addresses that are complete and known
** Examples: Town, city or suburb areas
Tip:
If you live in a housing complex, please search with the street name for the entrance to your complex – street names inside complexes are not always mapped by the municipality.
Who Can Register?
You must:
** be a South African citizen;
** be at least 16 years old (you can only vote from age 18); and
** and have a green, bar-coded ID book; smartcard ID; or valid Temporary Identity Certificate (TIC).

What documents do I need to apply for registration?
By law, you must apply in person (no online or email registrations are permitted). Please bring your:
** green, bar-coded ID book;
** smartcard ID; or
** valid Temporary Identity Certificate (TIC).
No other forms of ID can be accepted. Only original documents (no copies) are accepted.
What happens when I apply?
** Go to your local IEC office;
** Complete the registration form;
** Your identity document book is scanned;
** A barcoded sticker is pasted in your green ID book or on your valid Temporary Identity Certificate.
** Please note that completing the form and receiving a barcoded sticker or receipt doesn’t mean that you’re registered, it only means that you’ve applied for registration. Your application must still be processed (may take up to 7 working days).
How do I know if or where I’m registered?
To check your registration details, you can:
** Send an SMS with your ID number to 32810 (R1.00 per SMS);
** Download our mobile app and enter your ID number;
** Check your voter registration details;
** or check at your local IEC office during office hours.
When do I have to re-register?
