How to apply Bursaries :

** Students who wish to apply for external bursaries, scholarships or loans must apply directly with the companies or organisations offering the funding.

** Students who wish to apply for University administered awards, CPUT Scholarship, Merit bursaries, Deans merit bursary from CPUT, must apply at the Financial Aid Office.
** Application forms for university administered funding are available from the Financial Aid Offices on the Bellville, Cape Town, Mowbray and Wellington campuses.
** Complete and return the application form by the closing dates, along with the necessary supporting documentation.

Important notes :
** Always adhere to closing dates.
** Late applications or late submission of documentation will result in forfeiture of financial assistance.
** Consult the notice boards in the vicinity of the Financial Aid Office regularly for important and relevant information regarding financial assistance.

Accessing allocated funds :
** University administered awards, Merit bursaries from CPUT, external bursary and scholarship funds are administered by the Financial Aid Office.
** To access allocated funds students can visit or contact the Financial Aid Office.
** Loans offered by financial institutions are usually paid directly to the student.

Bursaries are granted to students on the basis of :
(a) Financial need
(b) Academic merit
(c) A combination of financial need and academic merit
(d) Encouraging students to study in a specific field
(e) As an incentive to accepting a service contract with the company granting the bursary.

Please Remember :
** Write a short letter to ask for application forms for all the bursaries that you think you are eligible for.

When You Fill In Your Application Form :
** Answer all the questions;
** Complete the form neatly in print;
** Use black or blue ink only;
** Keep the form clean and in good condition;
** Carefully checks the form for mistakes;
** Be completely accurate;
** Be completely honest;
** Include a certified copy of your most recent examination results signed by a Commissioner of Oaths, usually found at the local Post Office or Police Station.

** BCom (Info Sys) (Acc); SA Citizen or permanent residents. Year-for-year service contract. Compulsory December vacation training. All years.
Annual Value :
** Tuition, residence, R1 000 books/living allowance. 1 Year renewable. 4 Years maximum, tenure.
