Join our Database of Registered Scientists.
Who Should Register?
All natural scientists working in the fields of practice covered by SACNASP should register with us. Scientists working in the health sciences, especially those doing clinical work should register with the Health Professions Council of South Africa instead.
Engineers and those with engineering qualifications should register with the Engineering Council of South Africa. Those qualified in and / or working in the veterinary industry should register with the Veterinary Council of South Africa.
Why Should I Register?
If you’re a practicing natural scientist in South Africa, registration ensures legal compliance. The Natural Scientific Professions Act (Act No. 27 of 2003) requires all practicing natural scientists to be registered in terms of Sections 18 (1) and 20(2)(a) of the Act. In addition registration provides your current or prospective employers / clients with a quality assurance of your capability.
How Do I Register?
Prospective registered Natural Scientists can apply for registration with SACNASP through our online portal. Please familiarise yourself with our requirements for registration as well as the documents and fees required during the application process before you commence.
You will be required to upload your documents all electronically and make a payment during the process.

When will I receive feedback on my application?
** Once you apply for registration your application goes through a rigorous process of verification and evaluation.
** Once you have supplied SACNASP with all the required documents in a suitable and clearly legible form, the evaluation process takes approximately four to six months to complete.
** It is very important that you supply all the required documents correctly and in a clearly legible format as missing, incorrect or incomplete documents will delay the evaluation of your application.
