Springfield Curry Cook Off Competition
** The “Curry Cook Off” competition is brought to you by Broll Property Group (“the Promoter”) and their subsidiary registered companies, as well as the Emira Property Fund KZN, Independent Newspapers and Goldfish Communications.

Competition Period
** The “Curry Cook Off” Competition runs from 13th February – 1st March 2018, culminating in an event on 17th March 2018 (“the competition”).
** The Competition closes Thursday 1st March at 4pm.
Who Can Enter
** Entry is open to anyone, 18 years or over domiciled in the Republic of South Africa, with a valid Identity Document and/or Passport, except any professional chef (whether an individual is a professional chef or not shall be determined by the judges in their sole and absolute discretion).
** The competition excludes professional chefs, employees and immediate family members of employees who are employed by any subsidiary of Broll Property Group, their tenants and employees, Emira Property Fund KZN, employees and immediate family members of employees who are employed by any subsidiary of Independent Newspapers, and Goldfish Communications, and any of their subsidiary registered companies.
** Advertising agencies are also excluded from entering the competition.
** In order to be eligible for the prizes on offer, customers must complete the entry form on SRC website and attach your original recipe. Or download entry form from SRC website, complete and attach your original recipe and drop off at Independent Media (Address: 18 Osborne Street, reyville), in the competition box located at the information desk.
How To Enter
** All entrants must be available to partake in the final cook off on Saturday 17th March 2018 at Springfield Retail Centre, and by entering the competition, the entrants understand that they must be available on this day.
** Contestants will be provided with a shopping voucher, prior to the event, with which they must purchase their necessary ingredients.
** Contestants will be given one hour to cook the curry dish and should prepare 3 small bowls with their number on it; one for each of the judges. Each dish must be completed, from start to presentation, in one hour.
** The judges reserve the right to change the competition dates without prior notice. The Contestants will be furnished notice in respect of the change. In the event of such change, all participants agree to waive any rights they may have in terms of this competition and acknowledge that they have no recourse against the producers, channel, sponsors, its agents and/or promoters
Entries will have to include the following :
a. Completion of entry form in full
b. Selection of category of entry (Mutton / Chicken / Seafood / Vegetarian)
c. Title for the dish – e.g Piquant Prawns / Madras Mutton / Cheeky Chicken
d. Name for the team – e.g The IncrEDIBLES, Red Hot Chilli Preppers, Simmer Down, Wok this Way, The Spice Girls
** Only completed entries will be considered.
The following factors will result in an entry being void :
a. failure to complete the entry form correctly;
b. failure to include the name of the dish;
c. failure to provide the method and time involved in preparing the dish;
d. failure to ensure that the ingredients for the dish are readily available
e. Failure by the entrant to enter their full names and contact details (as required in terms of the competition)
f. Failure to include any other relevant information as requested
Prize Terms & Conditions
** Finalists will be drawn on Friday 2nd March 2018, and announced on Monday 5th March 2018. Three (3) finalists will be selected per category (12 finalists in total).
** The Curry Cook-Off judges shall choose the Final Contestants who will compete based on the best recipe submitted by the entrant; the judges shall determine this in their sole and absolute discretion. The judges’ decision is final and no correspondence will be entered into.
** The 12 finalists/contestants will be required to attend the cook-off competition at Springfield and avail themselves for all publicity. Contestants must reside in Durban.
** All contestants will be required to sign an indemnity form prior to competing in the Competition. Failure to sign the indemnity by the contestants will result in disqualification 17. The Promoter reserves the right to use the main dish recipe in any way it deems fit and such recipe shall become the property of the Promoter.
** Prizes cannot be transferred, substituted, amended, exchanged, or redeemable for cash.
