What is Bergmun External Study Bursary?

Bergrivier Municipality is committed to skills development opportunities for the broader community of the Bergrivier municipal area. The municipality offers South African citizens, who are permanently resident in the Bergrivier municipal area, the opportunity to obtain qualifications at tertiary institutions.

Selection Criteria For Bergmun External Study Bursary

Criteria For Selection Are As Follows :
** Selection of a successful candidate will be based on academic merit and total household income, with specific preference to poor families;
** Applicants must study at an accredited tertiary institution in South Africa;

** It is the responsibility of the applicant to obtain and submit proof of admission to the tertiary institution;
** Successful bursaries will be paid directly to the tertiary institution.

The Bursary Can Be Used For :
** Class fees; and/or
** Registration fees; and/or
** Accommodation.

Documentation Required For Bergmun External Study Bursary

The Following Documentation Must Accompany Your Application :
** Prescribed bursary application form available on the municipal website (.bergmun.org.za) or at the Human Resource Services Department Piketberg or at the Municipal Reception in each town;

** Motivation letter of 150 words to motivate your application;
** Full curriculum vitae of applicant;
** Certified copies of total household income;
** Certified copy of Grade 12 or latest tertiary results;
** Certified copy of South African identity document;
** Proof of approval of registration at tertiary institution;
** Proof of permanent residential address within the Bergrivier municipal area.

General :
1. A service bonus equivalent to one month’s salary, where applicable, will be payable and be supplemented by the normal benefits applicable to the Municipality incuding a housing allowance for home owners subject to certain conditions.

2. The Municipality is an equal opportunity employer and respects the conditions of the Employment Equity Act, preference will be given to candidates who comply with the Employment Equity Targets.

3. The Municipality is not bound to make any appointment.
4. All applicants will be subjected to police clearance with the concent of the applicant.

5. Applications received after the closing date or which have been received without the documentation mentioned below, will not be considered.
