Thanks to Truworths, in conjunction with The Hollard Insurance Company, you can insure your brand new cellphone against loss, accidental damage (including water damage) and theft, all for a minimum monthly premium.

** And it just keeps getting better… The monthly premium is based on the value of your cellphone, so you won’t end up subsidising customers with more expensive phones. This offer is available on new handsets purchased from Truworths only. However you don’t need to be a Truworths account holder in order to take up the insurance.

** In the event that your cellphone is lost, stolen or damaged, the cellphone will be replaced with a similar cellphone of equivalent quality and value. Please note that your replacement handset will be delivered directly to you and will not be replaced by any Truworths store.

1. Insured Events :
1.1 The Insured Item is covered against theft, accidental loss and accidental physical damage.

2. Benefits :
2.1 Following the physical loss or damage of the Insured Item caused by an Insured Event during the Period of Insurance, Hollard will:
2.1.1 Repair the Handset, or

2.2.1 Replace the Handset with a product of similar quality and price provided that, if the claimed amount of the Insured Item amounts to more than the Insured Value stated on the Schedule of Insurance, You will be Your own insurer for the difference between the maximum Insured Value and replacement cost of the Insured Item.

2.2 The maximum benefit will be equal to the replacement value of the Insured Item at the Date of Loss but will not exceed the maximum Insured Value as indicated on the Schedule of Insurance.
2.3 Where the Insured Item can be repaired, Hollard will pay the repairer the costs reasonably incurred to restore it to its condition immediately prior to the Insured Event.

3. Limitation Of Benefits :
3.1 A maximum of 3 (three) claims are allowed within a period of 12 (twelve) consecutive months, after which Hollard reserves the right to cancel the policy.
3.2 The benefit shall not be paid in cash as the benefit, in terms of this policy, shall be the replacement of the Insured Item with a product of similar quality and price.
3.3 The replacement value will not exceed the maximum Insured Value as indicated on the Schedule of Insurance.
3.4 Hollard will use its own discretion to determine if the Insured Item is irreparably damaged, in which case it will replace the Insured Item. If not, Hollard will repair the damage.

4. Period Of Insurance :
4.1 The Period of Insurance shall be as stated on the Schedule of Insurance, and is subject to Hollard’s receipt of the first premium. This policy is valid for one calendar month and cover will continue on a month-to-month basis if payment is up to date. The policy is automatically renewed every time You pay the premium.

5. Payment Of Premiums :
5.1 The premium is payable monthly in advance and cover will only be for the period in respect of which the premium has been paid.
5.2 If Hollard does not receive Your first premium (in the first month) the policy does not commence and will be void.

5.3 From the second month, You shall be entitled to a period of 15 (fifteen) days from the premium due date in which to pay Your premium. If the premium is not received from You within 15 (fifteen) days after the due date, the policy shall automatically terminate from 24:00 (midnight) on the last day of the month for which a premium was actually received.
5.4 The premium is due by direct debit in advance, on or before the first working day of every month.

6. Cancellation :
6.1 You may cancel this policy at any time, subject to a notice period of 30 (thirty) days. Notification of Your intent to cancel the policy must be made in writing to Finrite.
6.2 Hollard reserves the right to cancel Your policy after any claim subject to 30 (thirty) days’ written notice, in which case the unearned premium, if any, will not be refundable.
