Programme outline :
** The Ashinaga Africa Initiative is non-profit organisation from Japan, which aims at contributing to global development in Sub-Saharan Africa.

** The program offers talented orphan students an opportunity to pursue higher education studies, at an undergraduate level, in prestigious universities outside Africa. Students who are committed to return to their home country after completing studies and contributing positively to their communities are encouraged to apply.
Degree level : Bachelor’s.
Deadlines :
** Application deadline is 28 February 2017.
Application is open to those who :
** Have lost one or both parents
** Have completed secondary school within the last two years
** Must be citizens, and have completed high school in one of the following countries: Uganda, Rwanda, Kenya, Ethiopia, Tanzania, Ghana, Namibia, Zimbabwe, Zambia, Malawi, Sudan, Botswana, South Africa, Lesotho, Swaziland, Mauritius, Somalia, Nigeria, The Gambia
** Are in financial need
** Are proficient in English
** Have a strong academic record
** Are able to participate in the two Ashinaga preparatory programs, over the course of one year, before starting with their major studies
** Are willing to return home, or sub-Saharan Africa, after completing studies and contribute positively to society
** Have no dependants
** Are in good health and capable of studying abroad
Fields of Study :
** Open to all fields of study except Medicine (doctor).
