Candidates contesting Municipal By-Elections 30 November :
** Two municipal ward by-elections will take place in KwaZulu-Natal on Wednesday, 30 November 2016.
** The by-elections are being contested by 10 candidates representing five political parties.

KwaZulu-Natal :
Ward 31 in the uMhlathuze Municipality :
** KZN282 will be contested by Zodwa Zulu of the Academic Congress Union;
** Sipho Francis Ntombela of the African National Congress;
** Thandizwe Sydney Mthembu of the Economic Freedom Fighters;
** Bhekuyise Mabasa of the Inkatha Freedom Party, and Thamsanqa Bonginkosi Mthembu of the National Freedom Party.
** The ward was previously represented by the African National Congress and became vacant as a result of the resignation of the councillor.
** The voter turnout for this ward in the 2016 Municipal Elections was 62.93%
Ward 32 in the uMhlathuze Municipality :
** KZN282 will be contested by Rejoice Ntombi Gumede of the Academic Congress Union;
** Mntozofika Ndlovu of the African National Congress;
** Msizeni Maxwell Nxumalo of the Economic Freedom Fighters;
** Zodwa Harriet Mkhize of the Inkatha Freedom Party, and Nkosingiphile Abraham Mthembu of the National Freedom Party.
** The ward was previously represented by the African National Congress and became vacant as a result of the resignation of the councillor.
** The voter turnout for this ward in the 2016 Municipal Elections was 67.64%
** Voting will take place at voting stations in the relevant wards from 07h00 to 21h00 on Wednesday, 30 November 2016.
** You must be registered in a voting district within ward being contested in the by-election to be eligible to vote.
** Voters must provide identification (either a green bar-coded ID book, a smartcard ID or a valid Temporary ID Certificate).
** Registered voters can SMS their ID number to 32810 (cost R1 per sms) or dial *120*432# and follow the prompts to check their voting station details.
