Hungarian Government Scholarships :

Programme outline :
** The Stipendium Hungaricum Scholarship Programme was launched in 2013 by the Hungarian Government.

** The core mission of the programme is to increase the number of foreign students in Hungary and to encourage Hungarian higher education institutions to attract top foreign students.

** The Government of Hungary is expected to offer scholarships to South African students to study in Hungary from the academic year beginning in September 2017.
** Courses will be taught in English or the Hungarian language.
** Students applying for studies conducted in Hungarian language will be required to do a one-year preparatory course before commencing with their major degree studies.

** Bachelors
** Masters
** PhD

Deadlines :
** Application for the scholarship program will open in 2017, all interested candidates are advised to do research on courses offered in Hungary and public universities.

Who can apply :
** South African citizens in good health, with a strong academic record.
** Candidates with an interest in studying in Hungary and a commitment to the development of South Africa.

Fields of Study :
Bachelors :
** natural sciences and sustainable environment, engineering and information technology, agricultural science and food science.

Masters :
** natural sciences (especially biotechnology, bioenergetics and renewable energy), engineering (especially mining engineering, information technology); economics, business and management studies and tourism; agricultural science and food science; physical education and coaching, and adult education, and human resources development; international relations and European studies; and Hungarian language studies.

PhD :
** fields of studies to be communicated at a later stage.
