What is PRASA Full Time Bursary?
PRASA invites all South Africans who are without funds to pay for their studies yet are admitted for enrolment and/or are currently registered to study with a public Higher Education Institution within the Republic of South Africa. The applications for bursaries must be submitted to Sibusiso.nhlapo [at] prasa.com between the dates of 01st to 15th November 2024. late application will not be considered.

Eligibility of PRASA Full Time Bursary
All student applicants will be considered based on all the terms and conditions, listed below.
1. Applicants must be between the ages of 18 and 35 years and are admitted/accepted by a Higher Education Institution (HEI), that is registered with the Department of Higher Education and Training (DHET). The student must be admitted and/or registered to study in the year 2025, towards either a Bachelor of Science (Engineering) or National diploma (Bachelor of Technology or S4 Diploma), in any of the below listed fields of study:
** Electrical (heavy or light current)
** Civil, Mechanical
** Electronics
** Industrial and Quantity Surveying
2. Students who are/ have been studying in 2024 and prior years, must demonstrate an average 60% (minimum C symbol) of academic performance over the year(s)
3. Preference shall be given to students who:
** Have an excellent academic performance.
** Are orphans and/or child headed families.
** Possess a valid identity documentation of the Republic of South Africa.

Documents Required For PRASA Full Time Bursary
Applications must be submitted in the attached form and will only be considered if accompanied by:
** Proof of acceptance in a letterhead of the respective HEI.
** Final Examination results and a transcript of academic record if already enrolled for the study program.
** A commendation letter by a community leader, school principal or lecturer in the institution where the student is registered will be considered in support of the students’ conduct in school/community or any other institution of learning.
Application Requirements:
1. Application shall be made by completion of the official bursary application form.
2. Attach an Acceptance Letter highlighting the following information:
1. Grade 12/Senior Certificate
2. Previous year’s results (if already enrolled)
3. Proof of admission into the identified field of study.
4. latest date of registration.
5. Provide proof of residence and total household income.
6. total cost of registration, tuition, and examination fees.
3. A motivation indicating your reasons for enrolling for the intended qualification signed by yourself and a school principal, lecturer, or community / Religious / Cultural leader, where applicable
4. A commendation letter (Testimonial) by a principal, lecturer, or any adult leader in community / religion / cultural formation as confirmation of:
1. aptitude, work, and personal conduct
2. knowledge and commitment to the success of the applicant
5. Should your application be approved, you will be required to:
1. sign a contractual agreement
2. submit an invoice
3. submit proof of registration
4. Submit a quotation for prescribed books.
