MediLogistics consists of four collection options outlined below:
Doctor Collection Point:
Patients can collect their pre-packaged medicine parcels from Pick Up Points at registered doctors’ practices.
Community Collection Point:
These convenient Pick Up Points, which are based at community centres, schools or clinics, are located in remote areas of the country and allow patients to collect their medicine parcels.
Delivery Collection Point:
A delivery point is a where we receive parcels in bulk and our drivers deliver these parcels to patients directly, to collection points and/or to Doctor Collections points.
Delivery & Collection Point:
Patients can conveniently collect their pre-packaged medicine from parcel counters at these conveniently-located Pick Up Points, which also serve as distribution hubs for the delivery of parcels directly to patients or to other Pick Up Points.
MediLogistics Doctor Network
Our dedicated fleet of MediLogistics vehicles delivers patient-ready parcels to medicine collection points at a network of doctors’ practices. Through this service, MediLogistics works with doctors’ rooms in terms of a service level agreement.
Doctors’ practices are validated to ensure they have suitable facilities for the safe storage of the medicine parcels, including appropriate refrigeration capacity for example, and the company assists in training administrative staff in the use of the system to ensure each parcel has been dispensed to the patient it is intended for.
Particularly in more rural areas, the doctors’ practice collection points are regarded as an important service in assisting to drive chronic medication adherence, as patients can conveniently collect their prescription medicines from their doctor’s premises. Strict confidentiality measures, including the fact that there is no indication of the parcel contents on the external packaging, ensure that patient privacy is protected.
