CT Philharmonic Business Development Executive :
** The 100-year old Cape Town Philharmonic Orchestra, Africa’s oldest, is seeking an experienced fundraising and business development executive.

** The business development/fundraising executive will have responsibility for the planning and implementation of the Cape Town Philharmonic Orchestra’s fundraising programme in line with the orchestra’s ongoing sustainability in accordance with its budgetary needs.
** The employee will devise, develop and deliver an ambitious and innovative fundraising strategy that takes account of the various aspects of the orchestra’s scope.
** This includes supporting the CPO’s artistic, outreach and educational objectives.
** The executive will also deal on behalf of the orchestra with all public bodies, among them the Department of Arts and Culture, The National Lottery, the Western Cape Government and the City of Cape Town.
His/her role will be :
** To develop the orchestra’s relationships with local and international business, groups, institutions, trusts and individuals with the outcome of raising funds to achieve sustainability and profitable growth of the CPO as an integral part of the City of Cape Town.
** To devise long and short-term plans for income generation for the orchestra as well as the Endowment Fund.
** To develop new strategies for funding and determine the funding policies of corporate and public organisations.
** To maintain and enhance on-going donor relationships and communication.
** To liaise with CPO board, management, in particular marketing, and other organisations in terms of shared and joint operations, especially Cape Town Opera.
** To represent CPO management at specific conferences and at concerts, public functions where donors may be present and devise and host such events.
** To produce and agree to annual targets and fundraising expenditure budgets with the CEO and Fincom.
** To manage, supervise and guide the fundraising coordinator in a team-like manner.
** To manage sponsor events.
** Lead, inspire, motivate the fundraising team, internal staff and volunteers, ensuring all fundraising opportunities are maximised and income targets are achieved.
** In consultation with the CEO and marketing department, oversees all reportings to various donors, institutions and future donors.
Reporting :
** The business development and fundraising executive will report to the CEO.

** The employee will not be allowed to engage in any transaction in which the interest of the CPO and the employee’s personal interest are in conflict.
** Employees are expected to declare all such interests before commencement thereof.

Remuneration :
** The salary package will be negotiated with the employee.
** Profile, experience and seniority will be taken in consideration.
** A “cost to company” package will be negotiated, in addition to agreed scale of commission per appendix.

** The desire to be a team player.
** A passion and knowledge for classical music/the arts would be an added advantage.
