What is IIE-Vega School Scholarship Programme?

Stand a chance of earning one of twenty R50,000 scholarships for the 2024 intake! IIE-Vega is for the creators. Scholarships are applicable to NEW 2024 undergraduate students only. Last date of IIE-Vega School Scholarship Programme 2024 application is 01st November 2023.
Eligibility of IIE-Vega School Scholarship Programme
1. Eligibility for the IIE-Vega School Scholarship Programme is limited to first year full time contact, undergraduate students entering an Higher Education Institution for an Higher Education qualification for the first time.
2. The Scholarship award is applicable for studies commencing for the 2024 Intake and may not be carried forward to the following year. Recipients who, for any reason following a Scholarship offer and acceptance, are unable to register at IIE-Vega to commence their Scholarship in the year relating to the offer, must re-apply for Scholarship in a subsequent year.
3. Where Scholarship applications meet the minimum qualifying academic criteria, they will be forwarded to the Scholarship Committee for further consideration. Application scores will be calculated by the Scholarship Committee as a composite score out of 100 points.
4. The score will be comprised of the applicant’s school academic achievement, making up 30% of the overall weighting of the total score (School Academic achievement is measured as the average of the top 4 subjects), and the Motivational Letter with additional/supporting documentation, making up 70% of the overall score.
5. Grade Eleven (11) (or equivalent) results will be used for the academic achievement component of the composite score, unless the applicant has already completed Grade Twelve (12) (or equivalent) at the time of application.
6. New Scholarships in all categories apply only to undergraduate students, who have applied to IIE-Vega for their first year of studies for the first time, for 2024 and where applicants have not previously been registered with any Higher Education Institution.
How To Apply For IIE-Vega School Scholarship Programme?
Interested matriculant learners are invited to apply for an IIE-Vega School Scholarship from 1 August to 01 November 2023.

Please note our student definitions and application fee criteria:
New IIE Student:
** Applying or registering for a qualification for the first time with The IIE
** A once-off non-refundable application fee of R700 for contact qualifications and R400 for distance (online) qualifications is payable online to finalise your application
** Undergraduate applications close on the 27th of October 2023.
** Late applications for undergraduate contact qualifications will be considered should space be available, payable with a late non–refundable application fee of R1750.
Rollover IIE Students:
** Registered or previously registered at IIE-Vega or one of The IIE brands and returning to study a new qualification at IIE-Vega. Eg: a student returning to study a degree after completing a higher certificate with The IIE
** No application fee is required, therefore please select the Pay Later option when submitting your application
Returning IIE Student:
** Returning to study the same qualification at The IIE. E.g. returning for year 2 or year 3 of an IIE degree
** No application or application fee is required
Important:
Please note that to apply – you must upload your South African National ID or passport so please ensure that this is available for upload. Further we will evaluate your application based on the documentation that we receive from you, therefore if you provide us with your most recent academic eligibility documentation – we will be able to provide you with a more accurate assessment of your eligibility, which will determine your offer of Admission. Should your application be incomplete due to outstanding documents or because such documentation has not been certified, you will receive a Provisional Offer.
Awards of IIE-Vega Scholarship Programme
The IIE-Vega Scholarship Programme covers R50,000 tuition fees per recipient for new undergraduate programme studies and excludes any other costs associated with tertiary studies, including but not limited to, application fees, non-refundable pre-registration fees, textbooks, prescribed material, travel, accommodation and repeat module fees
