What is Seriti Bursary?
Seriti supports top students to obtain a tertiary education in a specified field of study at a recognised and registered Higher Education and Training Institution (mainstream South African University or University of Technology). Seriti is offering bursaries in 2024 for students pursuing a tertiary qualification in Mining, Electrical & Mechanical Engineering, Mine Surveying, Geology, Metallurgical/ Chemical Engineering OR Environmental. Students of interest must be in 2nd, 3rd, 4th year of study OR honours in Geology, Metallurgical, and Environmental. Applications must be submitted by 22 October 2023.

Who Can Apply For Seriti Bursary?
Students currently studying towards a degree or diploma (NQF6+) in any of the disciplines mentioned above in their 2nd, 3rd, or 4th year of study at a registered tertiary institution. Hons students accepted for Geology, Metallurgical, and Environmental applicants only

A CV with certified copies (certification within a 3-month) of relevant qualifications, together with ID document & and valid driver’s license, academic record/results, and registration acceptance letter must accompany your application.
Appointments will be made in line with Employment Equity targets. All applicants are thanked for their interest and applications that have not been responded to within 30 days of closing should be considered unsuccessful. Communication will be with shortlisted candidates only.
When applying, please submit a PDF version of your CV together with certified copies (certification within a 3- month period) of your previous results, ID, and your registration acceptance letter with your previous results.
You will need:
** Applicants must be a South African citizen
** Copy of 2023 1st semester results
** Average above 60%
** Brief CV
** Official registration at a tertiary institution and studying toward the required field and year of study
** Basic understanding of relevant legislation pertaining to the Mining Industry including the Mine Health and Safety Ac
Terms & Conditions:
** Final bursary contract is dependent on the official registration for the 2024 academic year including the results of the previous year of study
** Obligation to provide vacation work and work back obligation for students upon completion of their studies
** Specific focus will be placed on students from our local communities
** Applicants who are beneficiaries of any other Bursary or Sponsorship Programme are not eligible to apply
** Must study full-time
** 1 st year students are not eligible to apply
** Students studying a bridging course, or are in a foundation year are not eligible to apply
