NSFAS 2022 Applications Are Open. The applications process is also open to individuals who are already enrolled at institutions, but are without funding and qualify financially for NSFAS funding.

Who Qualifies For NSFAS Funding?
Students qualify to get NSFAS funding if you are a South African citizen or permanent resident who plans on registering or already studying at a public university or TVET college in South Africa and they will fall within one or more of the below categories:
** SASSA grant recipients (the SASSA COVID-19 grant does not count);
** Persons whose combined household income is not more than R350 000 per year;
** Persons living with disabilities with a combined household income not more than R600 000 per annum.
The correct supporting documents are important in ensuring that NSFAS process your funding application in time for your registration at an institution of higher learning.
How To Apply?
Getting a shot @NSFAS funding is super easy and quick, no long queues and complicated steps. You will need to first register for a myNSFAS account and submit your application online. CLICK HERE to go the myNSFAS portal to create an account.
Once your myNSFAS account is set up and functional, follow these simple steps and submit your application:
Step 1: Click on the ‘APPLY’ tab and complete the sections on the screen by providing the required information
Step 2: Upload required supporting documents where applicable
Step 3: Click on ‘Submit’. And just like that, you NSFAS funding application has been submitted.
Documents Required
Documents needed to verify your NSFAS funding application. Take note of the below important documents needed to complete the application:
1. All applicants must provide a copy of ID. A temporary ID issued by the Department of Home Affairs will be accepted
2. Non-SASSA applicants must provide ID copies of parent/s, legal guardian/guardian or spouse
3. Smart ID cards: a copy with both sides of the smart ID must be provided
4. Proof of income: applicant and/or parents/legal guardian/spouse (where applicable (non-SASSA) should provide latest payslip not older 3 months, UIF letter, appointment letter, retrenchment letter (applicant and/or parent(s), legal guardian/spouse)
5. Person with disabilities: to complete Disability Annexure A form.
Once your funding application becomes successful, NSFAS will cover your costs for:
** Accommodation
** Transport
** Living allowance
** Book allowances
** Incidental/personal care allowance
If you are unable to complete the application by yourself, you can visit a National Youth Development Agency Centre, a Thusong Centre or one of our application partner’s centre near you, where a NSFAS representative will help you apply.

I founded by nsfas , but when i register , my registration need amount of 4400 registration fee but my status for nsfas waiting for registration . I am so confused.
