SAMRC Researcher Development Grant – Request for Applications
Related / Similar Scholarship : South African Reserve Bank Art Scholarship 2021
Objective
The objective of the SAMRC Researcher Development Grant is to act as a mechanism for the Unit to implement capacity development initiatives. The challenges of training the next generation scientists or research leaders are well documented and they require a range of interventions at different levels of career development.
The purpose of this particular Request for Applications (RFA) is to provide opportunities for SAMRC researchers to enhance their research capacity through supervision of postgraduate scholars, with the overall goal of attracting young scientists of the highest calibre to complement SAMRC senior researchers and promote an increase in the number of scientists from designated groups in strategic and emerging fields where these groups are underrepresented.
Equity & Transformation
Female supervisors with scholars in the following underrepresented research fields including Biostatistics, Data Science, Digital Health, Demography, Epidemiology, Health Economics, Genomics and Immunology will be prioritized. Scholar registration at a historically disadvantaged institution will be considered a distinct advantage.
