Important information :
** For first time applicants, first complete the academic application process and use your student/reference number to complete the residence application as indicated below.

** Your residence application will not be processed if the R1220 residence deposit is NOT paid.
** If you should cancel your residence application or if you do not register AFTER accommodation has been allocated to you, 100% of the deposit will be forfeited, unless where admission to the university is unsuccessful. If your academic application is not successful 90% of the residence deposit will be refunded (on your request). The Central Placements Office must be informed immediately with regards to any cancellations.
** You may reside only on the campus where you attend your studies.
** No residence transfers are allowed.
** Only applicants studying towards curricular undergraduate and postgraduate programmes may apply for residence

Step 1 :
** Click here to start the residence application process.
Step 2 :
** Enter your student number and pin to login.
** If you forgot your pin, or don’t have one yet, enter your student number and click on the “Forgot Pin?” button.
** A pin will be sent to your email address you provided when you applied to UJ.
Step 3 :
** When you are logged in, expand the “Residence Application” folder on the left hand side and click on Submit payment

** Make the necessary payment as requested by means of credit card

Student Accommodation and Residence Life :
** Student Accommodation & Residence Life division is mainly responsible for the accommodation of approximately 19000 students in both university owned and managed residences as well as off-campus accredited privately owned accommodation.
** This is a vast division with 35 residences spread over 4 campuses at the University of Johannesburg.
** It should further be noted that, the total number of 35 residences are inclusive of the 7 Day Houses.
** Off-campus accommodation’s accredited properties are within 2 km of each campus and where they are beyond the prescribed radius, the set condition is that service providers are obliged to provide transport.
** Additionally, intercampus transportation is provided for all students residing in off-campus residences and houses.
** The university offers to all students, a list of accredited off-campus accommodation.
