Go to the official web page. Click the apply -> apply Online link
Click Continue with the application procedure button
Fill the application form for required fields :
Step 1 : Select What type of programme do you want to apply for?
i. Undergraduate
ii. Postgraduate or BMil
iii. Telematic Education (eg Postgraduate Diploma in Nursing or HIV/Aids Management)
Step 2 : Answer the below questions
1. Have you completed a 2020 application form (hard copy) and sent it to Stellenbosch University?
2. Will you be completing a 2020 application form (hard copy) AND then apply electronically? Please note, if we receive both type of application from you, we will accept the online application as the intended one.

What are the Closing Dates?
Applications open on 1 March and close on the following dates :
31 May: Applications close for the programme MB,ChB in the Faculty of Medicine and Health Sciences.
30 June: Applications close for all other undergraduate programmes.
30 June: Residence applications close.
31 August: Applications close for Stellenbosch University financial assistance.
31 October: Applications close for Diploma in Public Accountability (Telematic Education).
30 November: Applications for NSFAS bursaries close.

Admission & Selection Requirements
Requirements to study at Stellenbosch University
South African school system :
**You should have obtained a National Senior Certificate (NSC) as certified by Umalusi with admission to Bachelor’s degree studies
** You must obtain a mark of at least 50% in each of four school subjects
List of university admission subjects :
** Accounting, Agricultural Sciences, Business Studies, Consumer Studies, Dramatic Arts, Economics, Engineering Graphics and Design, Geography, History, Information Technology, Languages (one language of learning and teaching at a higher education institution and two other recognised language subjects), Life Sciences, Mathematics, Mathematical Literacy, Music, Physical Sciences, Religion Studies and Visual Arts
International school system :
** A-levels, AS-levels, IB diploma and GCSE/IGCSE/O-levels
** you should have written the National Benchmark Tests (NBTs).
** Please note that when you apply for a programme in the faculty of Law and of Medicine and Health Sciences, the NBT’s need to be written before 30 June if you want to be considered for selection.

** Please note that we cannot accept online results obtained from self-service portals.
** Electronic copies uploaded should be clear and legible .
** The preferred format for uploading your documents is pdf, jpeg and tiff.
** Your signed contract, your application documents as well as proof of payment should be uploaded online at your Application Status link on .maties.com before the closing date.
** If you apply with a hard copy application, you should include all the required documents with your application.
** If we do not receive all your documents by the closing date, your application will unfortunately not be considered.

What is the Application Fee?
** Application fee (R100) can be paid as part of the online application process.
** Please note that applicants from schools with a quantile 1 to 3, as well as international students, do not need to pay the application fee.
** If you are unsure about the status of your school, please contact the school.
** The online application system will automatically exempt you from the application fee when you apply.
** Cash payments may also be made in person to the cashiers at the Administration building A (Stellenbosch Campus).
