Qualifications/ Requirements
** B.Comm (Honors)
** Registration as or qualified to register as Professional in Auditing with the Institute of Internal Auditors of South Africa
** 5 years experience in Internal Audit Management
** Strategically guide and lead the Municipality’s Internal Audit Unit
** Implement internal audits to assess compliance to standards and legislation including investigations
** Implement and manage internal audits of the procurement of contractors and service providers
** Prepare risk based audit plan and an internal audit program for each financial year Advice the Accounting Officer and report to the Audit Committee on the implementation of report to the Audit
Key Responsibilities
The Internal Audit Plan and matters relating to :
** Internal Audit; Internal controls;
** accounting procedures and practices;
** risk and risk management;
** performance management;
** loss control;
** compliance with the Act, the annual Division of Revenue Act and any other;
** applicable legislation;
** perform any such other duties as may be assigned to it by the Accounting Officer;
** provide specialist programmes and projects auditing inputs for positive contribution to a clean audit mandate and compliance witht eh auditing standards
** Monitor applications, procedures and processes associated with specific statutory financial responsibilities and functions/activities of the Municipality
** Manages the implementation of Audit investigative processes to determine irregularities or non-compliance
** Disseminates guidance and information on specific key performance areas and requirements associated with the Audit programme and procedures;
